S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), believes that the Indian workforce can adapt to AI (artificial intelligence). Despite evolving demands brought by this cutting-edge technology, he believes that the Indian workforce possesses a strong ability to adapt and learn new skills.
He suggests a confident outlook regarding the impact of AI on the Indian workforce. Krishnan argues that the significant job losses fear due to AI is unnecessary. He truly believes that the workforce can easily adjust to new responsibilities and roles that will emerge with AI technology in the future.
Krishnan says that India might not face the same level of job displacement as other countries. Due to the distinct structure of India’s economy, with a large percentage of people working in various sectors, AI will augment the operations rather than replace them. Also, there will be a great need for human resources in many roles.
